if only there was a way to regulate the temperature in your house so that it's cooler at night and warmer during the day.  That'd be really cool!

We have a gas fireplace (you know, you just turn a valve and *VIOLA* fire coming from fake logs).  I don't know WHY we have a fireplace, except that the mantle certainly does come in handy for home decor.  But it has been as exceptionally cold winter for South Louisiana and that stupid fireplace has made for a cozy little haven on many an evening lately.  My family can't sleep at night if our house is above 68 degrees, so we can't keep the thermostat set too high or it'll end up being too warm to sleep comfortably.  The fireplace really does the trick to fill the gap.  Of course, hibernating is really tricky with a three, a five and a six year old and all of their energy.....

I don't know where you live, Kim. But I live in northwest Michigan, on Lake Michigan, and we have had the worst weather this week! And it's supposed to stay the same this whole week! :( Today, the weatherman said we had winds up to 30mph! And the sky has been overcast, gray, and icky, while heavy, wet snow just poutrs down in like 2-3 hour increments. Stay inside if your in Michigan this week! Enjoy your friends, family, or just your own company, drink hot cocoa, and read a book. It's hibernation time...
